a taste of summer

Many thanks to my friend [and neighbor], David, who provided me with this recipe and brought over fresh mint from his garden so I could make it! It is delightfully refreshing, and so simple. Also, you can get everything you need at your local farmer’s market. The ingredients are watermelon, feta cheese and fresh [chopped] mint.

After cutting the watermelon into small squares, I tossed it with the mint leaves. When serving, I tossed in the feta. Onefish decided he liked his without the feta, but thought mint with his melon was magnificent.

Happy birthday! I’m nearnig the big 40 also, but on the whole, I’m not a big birthday fan. It just feels like a big interruption in my already busy life. Is that awful? I don’t mind getting assigned a bigger number each year; I just don’t like the whole hulabuloo of birthday stuff. Oh dear I sound like a Birthday Scrooge.Well enjoy yours or maybe I should say, Bah Hum Bug! Jenni & Jody recently posted..

Although I dread the passing of time and ahlotugh there are individual days when I don’t like myself AT ALL in the BIG picture, I generally like myself more the more I age like if I think about my giddy gaddy self at 20, sure I wish I was that full of energy and muscle tone, but I was just plain silly! I hope that I can age gracefully, and enjoy the moments no matter what my hair, skin, and body fat are doing! LOL ENJOY YOUR DAY (and month!)JulieK recently posted..
